Words from the department chair

Prof. Hsu-Chung Chu (since Aug. 1st, 2025)

Founded in 2005, our department was the first in Taiwan dedicated to the study of Cultural and Creative Industries. With the concerted efforts of successive department chairs and all faculty members, we have achieved outstanding performance in teaching, academic research, and community engagement. Our graduates have also excelled across diverse professional fields.

In response to the rapidly changing employment landscape, the department focuses on cultivating cultural and creative professionals with both versatility and resilience. Among similar programs in Taiwan, our faculty possesses the most diverse and comprehensive expertise, and all courses are meticulously designed to nurture outstanding talent. Furthermore, through faculty engagement in industry–academia collaborations and various community service initiatives, we integrate practical experience into theoretical frameworks, enabling students to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice while still at school.

The Department of Cultural and Creative Industries is tailored for those passionate about creativity, storytelling, design, and project planning. Here, students learn not only theoretical concepts but also acquire hands-on experience through practical courses and industry partnerships. During their studies, they participate in real-world projects, building portfolios and gaining valuable experience. Our diverse and professional faculty guide students in exploring multiple fields—from film production and brand marketing to cultural event planning—ensuring that, whether students choose to enter the workforce, start a business, or pursue further studies, they will find a platform to realize their aspirations.
